Our Story

Why We Stopped Doing Everything and Started Doing One Thing Well

Rayden and Manny spent years doing general plumbing across Metro Vancouver, and the same scene kept finding them. A senior climbing over a dangerous high-walled tub. A daughter who held her breath every time her mother stepped into the shower. Restrooms that quietly stole independence from the people who needed it most. As Red Seal certified plumbers, they knew exactly how those spaces were failing — and they kept meeting families who'd been let down by handymen and unlicensed renovators promising accessibility they couldn't safely build.

So they started VAR. The quality bar in accessible renovations was simply too low, and the two of them knew they could do far better — proper waterproofing, permitted drain relocation, and finishes worthy of a home, not a hospital. Noah came on board to run operations: coordinating clients, scheduling crews, and untangling the BC RAHA grant paperwork that puts up to $20,000 within reach of families who never knew it existed.

Rayden leads every VAR installation with the precision of a Red Seal journeyman and more than a decade on the tools. He personally handles the waterproofing on each wet room and curbless shower, building with Schluter KERDI and Wedi systems rather than silicone and luck. His specialty is the work no one sees: the slope, the membrane, and the drain that keep a restroom dry for decades. To Rayden, a safe restroom should outlast the people who built it.

Rayden's grandmother moved in with his family after a fall — that's what drives his commitment to this work.
